About

Julia's Jungle is an online art business supervised and directed by myself, Julia Paliy, a 17 year old high school student and digital artist born in Ukraine and lived most of my life in London, Ontario.

Since I was about six years old I have been creating art, and I am currently on the route to establishing myself as a professional artist. My art sells at an affordable price, and I am able to customize anything to my customers' needs! If you want to learn more about me and my shop, read below.

My Experience

At the start of my artistic journey, I started showing interest in the hobby. I have a picture of myself at age three drawing my first picture, and that passion for art has been present in me throughout my whole life. My family members, who are also skilled in the visual arts began teaching me to draw as a child, and I can say that I've always been a little bit more advanced than my peers in the field. When I started high school in grade nine, I enrolled in a grade 10 art class as a grade 9 student, and having a teacher who was very enthusiastic and inspiring, I was confident this was going to be my career and wished that I could be that ecstatic in my future occupation.

In March 2015, I received a drawing tablet from my father as a gift, though not of optimal quality. I started creating digital art and eventually got a much better graphic tablet in December 2015. In the few months between then and the opening of my art shop, I was an artist for a few online gaming platforms. In March 2016, I opened an art shop, and in July 2016 I had opened a professional website!

At the start of September 2017, I will be pursuing a bachelor's degree of Design (BDes) at York University in Toronto, Ontario. I love what I do, and I hope to continue doing it for the rest of my life.

What I Use

I create art in a large variety of media. Over the last four years, I have learned that I am capable of adapting very quickly to any medium given to me, indicative of my learning capabilities and the ways in which I can adjust to any requests given to me. Primarily, I use pencil/graphite, watercolor, and create digital art, although I am also able to paint in acrylic, oil paint, coloured pencil, and pastels.

For my digital art, I use a Huion DWH69 graphic tablet as well as Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop Illustrator.

For my traditional art, I use the following:

  • Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colour Pencils
  • MUNGVO Soft Pastels
  • Derwent Blender and Burnisher Pencils
  • Staedler Graphite Pencils (Ranging from HB to 8B)
  • Reeves Watercolor and Oil Paint
  • Bienfang Mixed Media and Watercolor Paper
  • Stonehenge paper (for large projects)
